Brief history of the Department:

The Department of Stage Movement has been operating since 1945. Since the establishment of the institute, the subjects “Stage Movement and Dance” were taught to future directors and actors within the Department of Acting Skills.

Later, the demand for highly qualified specialists in theatre arts increased in Uzbekistan and the Central Asian republics. As a result, the number of students significantly grew. Consequently, major structural changes took place within the institute, and in 1975 separate dean’s offices and departments were established. Among them, the Department of Stage Movement became an independent academic department.

During these years, the department taught subjects such as:

“Stage Movement and Combat”,
“Dance”,
“Rhythmics, Plastics and Pantomime”,
“Director’s Work with a Ballet Master”,
“Physical Culture and Sports”,
“Valeology”,
“Ecology”,
“Fundamentals of Life Safety”.

Xatamov, boxing master of sports A. Mavlonov, rhythmics teacher G. Muxamedjanova and dance instructor L.B. Kobesova also taught students.

One of the leading teachers of the Department of Stage Movement and Physical Culture is PhD, Associate Professor Han Alam, who began working at the department on November 10, 2022. He teaches the subject “Dance” to students studying Acting and Directing.
