Brief history of the department:
The department was established within the Faculty of Folk Art based on the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated June 4, 2012 No. 1771 “On the organization of the activities of Uzbekistan State Institute of Arts and Culture”. By the decision of the Academic Council of the Institute dated July 10, 2023 (No. 11), the department was reorganized under the Faculty of “Cinema, Television and Radio Arts” as the Department of “Instrumental Performance and Music Theory”.
The department specializes in training teachers of instrumental performance for professional educational institutions of the republic, including specialized schools of arts and culture and children’s music and art schools.
In addition, master’s degree specialists are trained in the specialty Folk Art (Instrumental Performance). After receiving a master’s degree, graduates may engage in scientific-pedagogical and research activities in higher education institutions and research organizations.
The department’s teachers continue scientific and creative activities while constantly improving their performing skills and regularly organize creative reporting concerts together with their students. They also strengthen cooperation with professional educational institutions of the republic by teaching on a part-time basis, providing methodological and practical assistance, and conducting master classes.
