About the Department:
The department was established as part of the Faculty of Folk Art on the basis of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 1771 dated June 4, 2012 “On the organization of the activities of the Uzbekistan State Institute of Art and Culture”. According the decision of the Council of the Institute No. 11 dated July 10, 2023, the Department of Instrumental Performance and Music Theory was transferred to the structure of the Faculty of Art of Cinema, Television and Radio.
The department specializes in training teachers in the field of folk art, especially musical performance for republican professional educational institutions, specialized schools of arts and culture, republican children’s music and art schools. The department also teaches Masters of Folk Art (instrumental performance). After receiving a master’s degree, graduates can engage in scientific, pedagogical and scientific activities in higher educational institutions and research institutions. In addition to continuing scientific and creative work, the teachers of the department are working on the development of their performing skills and regularly hold creative reporting concerts together with their students. The teachers of the department are working to strengthen ties at all levels of education, engaging in pedagogical activities on the basis of professional educational institutions of the republic, organizing methodological and practical support for these institutions, conducting master classes.
