Brief history of the department:
The department was established on the basis of the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated June 4, 2012, No. PQ-1771 “On the establishment of Uzbekistan State Institute of Arts and Culture”. It was introduced on the basis of the bachelor’s degree program “Organization and Management of Cultural and Art Institutions” and the master’s specialty “Management in the Field of Culture and Arts”. After that, the Department of “Organization and Management of Cultural and Art Institutions” was created within Uzbekistan State Institute of Arts and Culture. On August 30, 2022, by the decision of the Academic Council of the Institute, the department was renamed to “Management of Culture and Arts”. The department is part of the Faculty of Folk Art of Uzbekistan State Institute of Arts and Culture.

State and international grants implemented at the department:
The department has received grants from the international “Change Academy” project of the United Kingdom titled “Formation of an Effective Management Culture in Higher Education Institutions”, as well as the “Creative Spark” project and the state social grant titled “Art – the Mirror of the Soul”. Research work is being carried out within these projects.
Scientific works of the department (list of textbooks, monographs and teaching manuals published in the last 5 years):
A large amount of research work has been carried out. In particular: during the 2018–2019 academic year – 61 scientific articles and 2 teaching manuals; in 2019–2020 – 72 scientific articles and 5 teaching manuals; in 2020–2021 – 72 scientific articles, 11 teaching manuals and 1 textbook; in 2021–2022 – 117 scientific articles, 6 teaching manuals and 1 textbook; in 2022–2023 – 133 scientific articles, 4 teaching manuals, 1 textbook and 2 monographs were prepared. In total, during the last five years, the department’s academic staff have produced about 500 scientific articles and 34 different educational publications.
Scientific and practical partners of the department:
Over the past five years, cooperation agreements have been signed with foreign higher education institutions that include research collaboration, exchange of students and faculty, internships, and professional development programs. Among them are Mukhtar Auezov South Kazakhstan University, Chelyabinsk State Institute of Culture, Altai State Institute of Culture, Goldsmiths University of London (United Kingdom), Kyrgyz-Turkish “Manas” University, and Kyrgyz State University of Culture and Arts. Cooperation with these advanced institutions continues actively through professional training programs, scientific and practical conferences, and exchange of students and faculty.
Cooperation with enterprises and organizations:
In order to improve the training of specialists, the department cooperates with various organizations of the republic, including:
• cultural and art institutions,
• museums,
• “Mirzo Ulugbek District Center of Culture and Public Recreation”,
as well as cultural and recreation parks and other organizations on the basis of cooperation agreements.
