Navruz and March 27 – International Theater Day – were widely celebrated at the State Institute of Art and Culture of Uzbekistan.

In addition to the staff of the institute, it was attended by heads of a number of higher educational institutions in our capital, famous writers, folk hafiz and representatives of the arts.

The event was organized by the rector of the institute and others. Eldor Shermanov opened up and spoke about the importance of the Navruz holiday, widely celebrated in our country, and at the same time sent congratulations to industry representatives on the occasion of International Theater Day.

At the beginning of the creative evening, a number of teachers and staff who have been working effectively at the university for many years were awarded memorable gifts from the institute’s trade union.

At the same time, a table was prepared for the employees on the territory of the institute and soup was boiled in a pot.

At the creative evening, popular songs by Orolmirzo Safarov, Rustam Abdullayev, Aziz Rajabi and other artists were performed, followed by dancing, and the good mood was shared by the institute’s employees.




The Rector’s Cup in national wrestling took place

Traditional competitions for the Rector’s Cup in national wrestling took place among students of the Uzbek State Institute of Art and Culture.

At the tournament, boys and girls competed in different weight categories.

“Competitions are organized in order to usefully spend the free time of boys and girls, increase their interest in sports, and provide them with material and moral support. I think such works will serve as a demonstration that our students are advanced not only in the field of culture and art, but also in sports,” said Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation Sobir Dzhumaev.

Based on the results of the competition, the winners and runners-up were awarded diplomas and medals by the management of the institute.




An international conference on the library field was held at UzSIAC

At the Uzbekistan State Institute of Arts and Culture, together with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the 1st international scientific and practical conference was held on the topic “ECOSYSTEM OF THE LIBRARY FIELD IN THE AGE OF DIGITIZATION: COOPERATION, INTEGRATION AND INNOVATION”, organized by the department “Library funds and bibliography” of the institute.

The conference was opened by acting Rector of the Institute Eldor Shermanov, who noted that librarianship is considered one of the most advanced and honorable branches of each era. At the same time, Eldor Shermanov stated that in the age of technology, this area should not lag behind the requirements of the time.

Professor of the Department of Library Science of the Institute Ibrahim Yuldashev and Director of the National Library of Uzbekistan named after Alisher Navoi Umida Teshabayeva also addressed the conference participants with words of greeting.

At the plenary session of the conference, along with professors, doctors of science, scientists and representatives of the intelligentsia of our Republic, invited experts from universities in Russia and Kazakhstan took part. In addition, representatives of many foreign universities took part online through the Zoom platform.

After the plenary session, sessional sessions of the conference were held on the topics “Priority directions of library science, bibliographic and document research”, “Digital technologies in library science, processes of cooperation and integration of innovations and their impact on the development of international relations”, “Intensification of the activities of information and library institutions and preparation personnel in the digital environment.”

At the end of the conference, participants were awarded certificates.




Professors and students of the Kyrgyz Republic improved their qualifications at UzSIAС

As you know, a memorandum was signed between the State Institute of Art and Culture of Uzbekistan and the Kyrgyz State University of Culture and Art.

In accordance with these cooperation relations, student exchange is established between the two universities, and master classes are organized with the participation of professors and teachers.

In addition, professors and students of the neighboring university directly participated in the teaching process at the State Institute of Art and Culture of Uzbekistan and improved their skills.

A representative of Goldsmiths University from the UK became an honorary professor at the State Institute of Arts and Culture of Uzbekistan

Gerald Lidston, founder of the Institute of Creative and Cultural Entrepreneurship at Goldsmith University in London, UK, visited the Uzbekistan State Institute of Arts and Culture today.

During the visit, Gerald Lidston met with the acting rector of the Institute, Eldor Shermanov. During the dialogue, issues of cooperation in the field of culture and art management, tourism, design and other areas were discussed. In addition, the guest was able to got the opportunity to get acquainted with the the educational process at our institute.
At the end of the visit, Gerald Lidston was awarded the title of Honorary professor of the Uzbekistan State Institute of Arts and Culture.

For your information, Gerald Lidston is the author of a number of master’s degree programs, including a master’s degree program in the field of art management and cultural policy. Initially, Gerald Lidston worked as a stage designer, manager and lighting designer, and has extensive experience working in Eastern Europe and the USA.
Gerald Lidston has also taught at the British Council and other agencies, as well as at art and cultural management training courses in more than 20 countries. In particular, he implemented a 12-year project at Hanoi University of Culture on “art management”, organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam and funded by the Foundation.
In addition, Gerald Lidston was the director of a four-year project of the British Know-how Foundation to create education in the field of art management in Slovakia. As a result, the first book on art management in the Slovak language was published, and the British Council’s project “be near the museum” in this state was implemented.

The State Institute of Art and Culture of Uzbekistan signed cooperation agreements with leading universities in the world in the field of musical and theatrical art

On September 26-27 of this year, officials led by the rector of the State Institute of Art and Culture of Uzbekistan Eldor Shermanov visited the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music and the Russian State Institute of Theater Arts. and held a number of practical meetings. As a result of bilateral negotiations, memorandums of cooperation were signed between universities for the next five years.

Thanks to this, now music teachers of the State Institute of Art and Culture of Uzbekistan, as well as tuners of musical instruments, can improve their qualifications at the leading musical higher education institution in the world – the Russian Academy of Music.

In addition, on October 1-10, 2023, an agreement was reached on the creation of an international theater school at the institute with the participation of leading Russian experts in the field of acting, directing, stage movement, stage speech, and vocals.
